Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. My name is Virginia Peter, and I have recently joined 4Pillars as an intern!
I am really excited to start my career in the environmental consultancy field at 4Pillars, as I believe sustainable practices are the way forward for all industries to thrive in the future. I was drawn to 4Pillars’ principles around sustainability and the strong emphasis on delivering future-focused solutions, as these align with the values I hope to engage with in my career as an Environmental Engineer.
I am currently in the penultimate year of my undergraduate degree, undertaking a bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering (Honours) at the University of New South Wales. I have always had a strong appreciation for the natural environment and am passionate about finding solutions to current environmental problems to allow society and the environment to coexist and flourish in the years to come. Pairing this with my curiosity in understanding how things work from a scientific and mathematic perspective, I thought Environmental Engineering sounded like the perfect degree for me!
I have been so fortunate to have been welcomed into the 4Pillars team where everyone is so supportive, and knowledgeable and the team’s passion for their work is truly inspiring. With this being my first-ever internship, I am excited to immerse myself in 4Pillars’ projects and get a taste of environmental consulting across the different teams.
In my spare time, I enjoy taking long walks with my dog Rockie, reading National Geographic magazines, re-watching Gilmore Girls or Bones, and sitting in my backyard soaking up the sun!
